Cy Fair ISD Names New Principal for Bang Elementary

Children who live in Bayway Homes’ Northwest Houston Townhome community of Steeplechase Terrace attend the acclaimed schools of Cy Fair Independant School District, inlcuding Bang Elementary, Cook Middle School, and Jersey Village High School.

CFISD posted this announcement on their website on Monday: April 19, 2010 Erwann Wilson, a principal in Houston ISD, was named the new principal at Bang Elementary School. Wilson replaces Cindy Barclift, who will retire in June.

Wilson has spent 25 years in education, 21 of those within CFISD. She began her career teaching three years at Frazier Elementary School, followed by two years at Millsap and one year at Hamilton elementary schools. She then accepted an assistant principal position at Hamilton, serving four years before accepting the principal position at Frazier Elementary School. After eight years at Frazier, Wilson served three more years at Metcalf Elementary School to complete her first “tour of duty” with CFISD. She then spent four years in the Mansfield and Houston school districts before making her return to CFISD.

Wilson received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University. She holds certifications in Elementary Self-Contained (1-8), Elementary Reading (1-8), Kindergarten (PK-KG) and Mid-Management Administration (PK-12).

“We are pleased that Ms. Wilson is returning to CFISD,” said Roy Garcia, associate superintendent for curriculum and instruction and school administration. “Her collaborative leadership, focus on relationships and desire to make a positive difference for each and every child will serve the Bang learning community extremely well.”
